DEAR PATRONS OF CAFÉ PARADISO

 After twelve years of establishing itself as a major home for Jazz in the nation’s capital, Café Paradiso is both celebrating the past and affirming its commitment to continued programming.  Opportunity, diversity, high standards and patron affordability remain our goals as we showcase the best local musicians, invite leading artists from elsewhere in Canada and abroad, and host special events to introduce merging talent.

Our core goals and values remain, but maintaining and strengthening them in a time of widespread economic change presents us with unhappy realities.  Until now, with the exception of occasional ticketed events, Café Paradiso has been proud to offer music, free of charge, as a gift to our patrons.  To offset mounting economic impact on both the quality and scope of our programming, we have reluctantly accepted that the time has come for a modest surcharge in support of live music.

 We hope you will consider a $3 per person charge a worthwhile contribution to a healthy music scene and that you will continue to be a valued member of the Café Paradiso music family.
